Vincenzo Genovese, class 1976, is an Italian pianist who brilliantly stands out in different musical contexts, thanks for his ability to switch from classical piano to a more modern sound on keyboards, while maintaining a perfect level of performance. Graduated in classical music in '99 at the Francesco Cilea Music Conservatory of Reggio Calabria (maestro A.F.Calabrese), he has followed his studies with a thriving passion for improvisation, playing with different ensembles in the conservatory, ranging from pop-traditional music to jazz, up to becoming a well renown arranger inspired and taught by Salvatore Bonafede. He was only 10 years old, when he was recognized a considerable public and critical acclaim for a three evenings participation in "Gong" (R.T.P.) Tv show, where he performed with his band.
An early interest in Christian music dates back to '91, when he discovered Koinonia and Ron Kenoly while attending Abraham Laboriel, Justo Almario, Vinnie Colaiuta, Paul Jackson Jr., Tom Brooks, Chester Thompson, Carl & Leanne Albrecht seminars, later becoming their main musical influence. Vincenzo's style, in fact, despite having a predominantly jazz matrix, is strongly influenced by gospel. His professional career truly took a turn when he moved to Tuscany in September 2006, carrying forward educational, concerts and production activities at the same time. In June 2008 he becomes a member of the Orchestra Filarmonica Cilea conducted by Maestro Stelvio Cipriani for the production of Rai Uno of the Musical "Maria di Nazareth" recorded at the Sala Nervi in the majestic Vatican.
In 2009 he collaborated with Mica Paris (The UK's Soul Queen), on the occasion of a concert held by the English artist, in Montecatini Terme. In July 2010, during the "Onda Mediterranea" show, he collaborated with SoundOrkestra playing in the final evening with an exceptional guest: the Italian trumpet player Fabrizio Bosso. From February to June 2011 he directed the musical "Giotto", produced by the Municipality of Vicchio (FI), with music by Dario Cecchini. Since July 2012 he has been working on his most important project: White Orcs, one of the most close-knit and overwhelming Italian formations of black music, formed by professional musicians who have to their credit prestigious collaborations both in jazz and pop.
In 2013 he collaborated as arranger on the "First Second" album of the Tuscan jazz band The Jelly Factory directed by guitarist Luca Gelli and also took the artistic management of the Gambrinus Music Cafè (2011-2013) the historically most popular club located in the heart of Montecatini Terme; On April 30th 2016, on the occasion of the International Jazz Day, the first record of the White Orcs "Koinonia" was released as pianist, arranger and musical director, recorded in April 2015 at the Giacomo Puccini Theater of Altopascio during the concert held on the occasion of the Francigena Internationals Arts Festival. Special Guest of the album "Dirotta su Cuba”.
In January 2017 he works along Gigi Proietti and Neri Marcorè as arranger and conductor for a TV show "Cavalli di Battaglia" on Rai Uno. Shortly after, he enters the studio to record the new Funk Off record "It's Ok" as choir director, participating with the gospel choir section of his White Orcs project. On April 30th, 2018, on the occasion of the International Jazz Day, the new single signed White Orcs, "Hiccup in my head", is released and sees him as the composer, pianist, arranger and musical director. The same August, he performs with the whole big band at Gray Cat Jazz Festival, Genovese hosting the British soulman Tony Momrelle (Incognito), with whom he records a live album soon to be released in spring.
From 2019 he becomes the pianist of the historic Italian band "Stadio" participating in the "Stadio Mobile Live 4.0" Tour.
From 2022 he becomes, with his orchestra, the conductor of the project "Gospel Experience"
